Country of Origin

These statistics present data on the location of owners at the time of purchase based on the owner's address supplied at the time of registration.

It compares ownership by:

• owner’s address in Scotland

• UK owner address outside Scotland

• owner’s address outside UK

You can access the latest Country of Origin report.

Key breakdowns of the data include:

• type of owner (e.g. individuals, limited companies, and other)

• local authority and postcode sector of the property within Scotland

• land use classification (e.g. residential, commercial, land, agricultural, forestry, and other)

• 2-fold Urban Rural classification

You cannot segment the Country of Origin data by date. 

The statistics team will review the feasibility of the request and get back to you.

House Price Statistics
